Omara sprung floors

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Sprung Floor?
A sprung floor is suspended above an existing hard surface, such as concrete hardwood or tile glued to concrete, using material designed to absorb shock.

Who needs a Sprung Floor?
Any person who is jumping or engages in intense physical activity needs a sprung floor.

Why does a person need a sprung floor?
Concrete floors and other unyielding surfaces can create physical problems as they do not "give". A good sprung floor absorbs energy and returns a small portion back to the user. It provides an even and consistent resiliency.

What installation options are available?
There are three options available.

1) Cable Tuned:
We developed this revolutionary patented installation system to provide a very easy way to install your new floor. CARPENTRY SKILLS ARE NOT NEEDED. This floor comes customized to fit your space. We provide you with an Installation Kit and detailed instructions. This system makes installation so easy that all one needs is the ability to follow basic instructions.

Sample Instructions

2) Tapcon or Wood Screws: This method also comes with detailed instructions. Installation Kit is provided upon request. Carpentry skills are needed for this option. It can be customized to fit upon request.

3) Special Requests:
We also provide installation services upon request.

Do you manufacture a beveled edge for the floor?
All seams are beveled approximately 3/32”. However, we also carry a transition ramp.

How are the panels attached to each other? How many would be required?
Panels are held together using our patented O'Mara Cable Tuned™ System that tensions the panels together from underneath the floor. Each section is 2’ x 4’. Therefore 3 panels for a 4’x 6’ floor, and 2 panels for a 4’ x 4’ floor.

What is the weight per panel?
Each 2’ x 4’ panel weighs approximately 20 pounds.

What, if any, tools are required for assembly?
7/16” wrench - it is included. This is used to tighten the cable.
